Camden is 1: Spring Family Photos at the California State Capitol Park

Camden is 1. PLUS 5 months to be exact. I photographed her parents, Hoai and Huynh’s wedding, a couple years ago. We’ve been talking about doing family photos since baby girl was born but things always came up that it didn’t happen until 2 weeks ago. And by thing, I mean, baby was too young, the weather was cold, her mom wanted to lose some of the pregnancy weight, my schedule was crazy, their schedule was crazy. LIFE! Life happened and we kept pushing it back and back and next thing you know, Camden is almost 1.5 years old.

But boy! Weren’t we all glad this photoshoot happened because Camden JUST STARTED TO WALK and I got to document this major milestone for her mama and papa.

We started their family photos at the bamboo garden at Downtown Sacramento Capitol Park. For having lived Sacramento for years and years, they said this is their first time at the Downtown Park. I guess it’s not surprising since I lived in Sacramento for over 7 years before frequenting this park when I became a photographer.

We went from her not wanting to walk at all at the beginning of the session to her not wanting to sit down anymore. Baby girl was on the move!!

And the only thing that would make her smile is parents singing, “Itsy Bitsy Spider.”
I taught her to pick little tiny wildflowers. You know how that is, starting them young on loving flowers and grass.
Isn’t she the cutest? Her parents are pretty adorable too! hehe
Teaching her to smell flowers at an early age. The camellias in Downtown Sacramento Capitol Park are all in bloom if you want to check them out too.

Isn’t Camden soooo adorable? I never noticed before when babies first started walking that they would crunch up their shoulders and put their hands out like this to gain balance.

The camellias will be in bloom until mid April or so if you want to head down to Downtown Sacramento State Capitol for photos. Right now the azaleas are all in bloom as well. The white and pink dogwood will be in bloom soon. As a flower lover, I love California so, so much for this very reason. There are always flowers blooming somewhere.

I know my clients and followers/fans love them too so I will make a better effort to blog more to keep you in the know!

Happy Friday! I am editing some more pretty sessions today before heading to Downtown Sacramento for a corporate headshot session for a lawyer office. Then shooting a wedding tomorrow at Granite Bay Golf Club then 2 portrait sessions on Sunday. Phew!!! Busy week ahead!

Have a great weekend, guys!
