A week ago, I got to photograph the most beautiful proposal at Bywater Hollow Lavender Farm in Lincoln, CA for Myung and Cecille. Everything about engagement proposal was PERFECT: the dock on the lake, the tranquil water, the flower arch filled with roses of her favorite colors, the rustic canoe waiting for them at the end, and of course, the handsome couple.
What was not perfect though, was the weather! hahahah.. OMG! Myung contacted me back in January about his plans but I was out of town in February so we moved the proposal to March. He is from CA but is currently living in Chicago for his residency. So once a month, he would fly back to Sacramento to visit Cecille. He said he knew from the start that she is the ONE and was so excited to give her the most “EPIC” proposal (something Cecille of course have shown him tons of photos of!!! I mean, what girl doesn’t have a PINTEREST page full of pretty ideas that they love?)
Two weeks leading up to the proposal, Myung texted me about the weather and asked if we should move it indoor? He and I, we pretty much looked at the weather app every day for that full 2 weeks. The week before he proposed, it rained THE WHOLE WEEK!!! Then 2 days before the event, we decided that outdoor will be the most natural and beautiful way to propose to his girlfriend. It rain on Thursday, was sunny partly cloudy on Friday, then it sprinkled again on Saturday when we met up in Downtown Capitol Park in Sacramento for photos. It drizzled on the way to Bywater Hollow but thankfully, the rain stopped once we get to Bywater Hollow. Oh, Mother Nature sure knew how to tease us all!
Then once we got to Bywater Hollow, look what we were greeted with:

Before leaving, they got on the canoe so Cecille’s fiance can row her around the lake, you know, like how they do it in the movie, all romantic and stuff.

The whole experience was so whimsical and fun! Looking back at these photos still have my heart pounding. I can’t believe Myung was able to make this happen from 2000 miles away.
Thank you Mary from Amour Florist and Bridal for doing such an amazing job with the flower arch, to Bywater Hollow Lavender Farm for allowing us access to your beautiful property and to Orchid Duong for Cecille’s hair and makeup.
