Mai and I met when she was looking for a wedding photographer for her younger sister. She saw photos I posted of another couple and contacted me for more information. Her sister postponed the wedding but ended up Mai booked me for her 5th wedding anniversary photos. Since then, we’ve been friends. She has helped me with shoots, gave me new ideas to make my photos better, showered me with a bazillion of mermaid photoshoot inspiration (for herself in the future..lol…), and I just love her to death.
Mai and Luis are so ready to be parents!!!!! They have been dreaming about this baby for a long time now. They got pregnant last year but lost it. It was the saddest thing to hear but did you know that miscarriage is really common? I never heard much about it growing up but as I was reaching that age where my friends and co-workers were having kids, I heard it about more often and more frequently. And most of the time, it is not even something that you did, which is a saddest part.
So what a blessing it is that Mai is her 3rd trimester now. She is healthy and is still working and going on being her bubbly self. I was so in love with her during our photoshoot. I mean, instead of baby sonogram and clothing, this girl brought Hello Kitty, stuffed animals and a Sanrio backpack to the shoot. Luis was hesitant at first but dang! He’s a natural model. We joked and said that we should send Sanrio these photos.

Congratulations you guys! I cannot wait to meet your baby girl soon. You are going to be such great parents. I just know it already!
