You know that place with all of the windmills in between Tracy and Livermore in San Joaquin County that you always pass by on Highway 580 on the way to San Jose? That’s where we went for Annie and Thavi’s engagement session last November.

Annie and Thavi live in San Jose. I live in Sacramento. The plan was that they are going to go to Folsom for their engagement photos. But Annie got the date wrong on her calendar so I told her I can come out to San Jose for their engagement session. But end up that weekend, she and Thavi were going back to Stockton anyway to visit her family so we thought meeting at Livermore would be interesting. I’ve always wanted to stop by Altamont Pass to do a shoot. Henry and I had stopped by several times before but it was only on the side of the road. We didn’t get anywhere as close to the windmills as Annie and Thavi did.
Lucky for us, it had rained several weeks before the shoot so the grass was all green and healthy instead of being dead and yellow. It was really chilly when we were there but the sun was out and the sky was blue. It was a perfect morning in Livermore for engagement photos.
I swear, I couldn’t take a bad picture of the groom-to-be.

For the second set of images, we stayed at the same area but went into what looked like a cattle pen once upon a time.

There was an abandoned shed with broken windowpane and shattered glasses. It looked so old and rugged that we barely dare to go near, but my-oh-my, the texture is amazing in photos.

Congratulations Annie and Thavi on your 6-year anniversary today. I cannot wait to document your wedding in March!!! It is going to be sooooooo amazing!!!!
Until next time,
