Brooke came into the studio yesterday to interview me for her senior project. The assignment is to narrow down what career she’d like to pursue and interview someone in that respective field. She chose photography and contacted me via Instagram to set up the interview now that I am back from Vietnam and Thailand.
We met at the studio and chat for about an hour. Before she left, I want to show her how I usually shoot. To make it a bit more challenging, I decided that we should do a challenge: HOW MANY PRETTY PHOTOS CAN I TAKE IN 15 MINUTES?
Since the magnolias are in full bloom and my studio (in Old Sac) is just down the street from the Sacramento Capital, Brooke and I went there for a bit fun.
Brooke mentioned that she really like Tumblr. So tonight, instead of doing my usually vibrant edit on her photos, I went for the raw, vintage look, inspired by the family fashion photographer Emily Soto (who is known for her editorial Polaroid images.)
To be honest, we shot these in 17 minutes (and not 15).
In the future, I plan to keep my family, engagement and wedding photo style the same (fun, vibrant & timeless). For boudoir and my women beauty portrait sessions, I want to have a bit more fun with it. The choice is up to you.
Classic or vintage, if you love these images then contact me to book a Spring Session for yourself or for someone you love. The magnolia will wilt in a week or two so don’t wait.

Thank you for always supporting my work.
