THE “100 COFFEES WITH 100 STRANGERS” PROJECT- POST #1
Meet Lainika: Mother of 2. Independent. Strong. Versatile.
I had coffee with this beautiful lady to kick off the “100 Coffees with 100 Strangers” Project. It is not necessarily is a “project” but more of a goal that I set to go out and meet more people around Sacramento. I left my corporate 9-5 job 10 days ago so photography is officially my full time job now. It can get daunting to be in the house or at the studio all the time so this is the perfect excuse to get out.
We met in front of my studio in Old Sac and made our way over to Ambrosia Cafe on Capital Mall. Since her outfit is so cute, I asked Lainika to pose for me for a couple shots. I felt like we were shooting for an outfit-of-the-day post. (hehehe)
It was a beautiful morning to wander through Downtown Town. We were at awe at the work that was happening at the Golden 1 Center. This is the new basketball arena that’s being built for the Sacramento Kings. Talk about progress because it hasn’t been that long since they laid the foundation.
This is the first time we met in person but I felt so comfortable with her. I wonder if it is because we are both women or is it because she is so personable. Maybe it’s both. I learned that Lainika has 2 kids. She works in the Bay but lives here in the Sacramento area. Recently she got her license so that she can offer ordain services to couples who wants to have a “courthouse” wedding but not at the courthouse per se. She has an office in Citrus Heights with a huge deck and beautiful trees where couples can have their elopement ceremonies.
That’s pretty cool, huh?
And to think that up until now, she was just a stranger who followed me on Instagram.
Well, strangers no more!
I look forward to capturing some great memories for you and your kiddos soon, pretty lady!
Thank you so much for coming out today. I had a wonderful time and hope you did too!
“100 Coffees with 100 Strangers” is an on-going project intended for networking and meeting new people who we know online but haven’t met before. For old friends and new friends. If you are in the Sacramento and would love to meet up, please email me at info@twotwentyphotos.com and we can set it up.
If you love this idea and want to be updated, please subscribe to this blog. And if you haven’t, please add Two Twenty Photos on Facebook and IG. I’d love to have you join me as I chase my dreams.
Love this project and the post. This encouraged me to get out there and meet more people.
Great job. Great shots. Are you part of the Official Flickr 100 Strangers project yet? If not you should. Check it out.
