So excited to share these photos from James and Lai’s engagement session with you. For their summer engagement session, Lai wanted something rustic but has lots of trees and flowers and outdoor. Since she mentioned that one of their hobbies is kayaking, I thought it’d be really gorgeous if we’re able to rent a canoe and sail it on the river.
After asking around, I found this a beautiful location called Bywater Hollow Lavender Farm in Lincoln, CA that we can go to. This place is gorgeous! To take pictures on the property, you have to call the owner first to make an appt. It is $25 to get in but you get to use everything like have on the property: the white picket fence, the well that they no longer use, the willow trees hanging by the side of the lake, the canoe and of course the lavender farm.
They brought along their dog, Bandit, so we had to have some adorable pics of him of course.
This picture of Bandit with closed eyes while sticking out his tongue is just so cute, don’t you agree?. I have a little dog too and I think everything he does is adorable. Maybe you share the same sentiment?
I adore this top photo so much. James is really tall compared to Lai so it is only appropriate that we do this pose.
Here are the rest of the photos from our gorgeous engagement session that day. Enjoy!
While we took these photos at the abandoned well, the owner came out to watch us. We thought we did something wrong but she said she never had anyone take photos there before. We were the first. I don’t see why not because I absolutely love the contrasting textures of the harsh concrete versus the organic plants.
So many smiles and laughter and kisses. <3
Are you ready? Are you ready? Here are the magical photos on the canoe that you’ve been waiting for.
With so much smiles, you can’t tell in the picture below that they were super scared as they tried to balance themselves on the canoe in the middle of the lake.
For the last set, we migrated over to the lavender farm as the sun disappeared into the horizon. Though it’s called a lavender farm, they only have a small section blocked off to grow lavender. The owner told us that they are working on growing lavender all around the property soon. I can’t wait!
It’s really amazing though. For the brief moment that we were there, brushing by here and there on the flowers and leaves, it was enough to have us smelling like lavender for the whole night. It’s like we went to a spa, but better because it was all natural and organic.
I can’t image what it would be like to run through an endless field of lavender, like the ones in France.
